Beyond Plastic

In the year 2020, our organization won the BEYOND PLASTIC global award for its actions to reduce disposable plastics. The project funded by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) aims to study the production of plastics in Cyprus in order to produce practical proposals for waste management and reduce pollution in the Mediterranean Sea.

Plastic Waste-Free Islands

The program is developed in full synergy and cooperation with the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative – CSTI. The primary goal of the project is to reduce plastic leakage on two islands in the Mediterranean, Minorca and Cyprus. This will be achieved by improving the dissemination of information and knowledge on waste generation and by strengthening the adoption of measures to reduce plastic spills from the tourism, fisheries and waste management sectors. For more information, please visit the program page on IUCN website.

Plastic Free Beaches

In March 2023, our organization in collaboration with the NGO Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative, developed two “Plastic Free Beaches” encouraging and facilitating visitors by installing a smart drinking water tap, signs and recycling baskets in Larnaca and Limassol.

Both projects were implemented with the funding of the IUCN and the Fondation Didier et Martine Primat as well as the support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus.
